Dave Smith

Dave began his career in the advertising industry in the early 1990s and he’s worked in Memphis, Birmingham, Atlanta, Boston and Nashville. His work has been featured in Communication Arts magazine, Archive, and Ad Age and he’s earned both a Gold Pencil from The One Show and two Silver Pencils from D&AD. Dave has also won multiple national, regional and local Addy Awards. In 2012 he was named “Copywriter of the Year” by the American Advertising Federation Nashville.
 
While a writer by trade, he also has vast experience as a creative director, video producer, scriptwriter and brand strategist. He has proven skills in long-form writing for corporate content, websites and PR/Communication strategies. He has also published several articles in industry publications, blogs and websites.
 
Dave has worked full-time at places like Hill Holliday, BBDO and Slaughter Group. In addition, he has freelanced with Ogilvy, McGarryBowen, Boone Oakley, Vitro, DDB, Huey Partners and others. Some of the brands he has created content for include ESPN, Bank of America, Liberty Mutual and many nonprofits.

In his off-time he enjoys spending time with his wife and family. His hobbies include Brazilian jiu jitsu, running, cooking, playing guitar and reading.
